Amanda Moriarty CD (CBI) Birth and Postpartum Doula
Supporting Women and Families through Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum
Who I am
I’m Amanda, I began my journey into motherhood as a young, single mom at the age of 18. Now, my husband and I have a beautiful blended family with 5 kids, our youngest of which are a set of boy/girl twins. Aside from my love of all things baby, I enjoy spending time camping with my family and vacations by the ocean. I am light hearted and believe that laughter is the best medicine. My passion for pregnancy, birth, and babies led me to begin my Doula journey. After experiencing my own births and witnessing the births of my niece and two nephews, I knew that my heart belonged to a career as a Doula and to support as many mamas as I can. I am dedicated to being a compassionate presence, who will always listen to, reassure you, and support your birthing choices. I promise to see you.

“Amanda was the most amazing support system you can ask for during my pregnancy, labor and prenatal care as well! 💗 I couldn’t give a higher rating! She helped me through surgery while pregnant, breastfeeding support, taught me how to swaddle and a better way to burp! She was fantastic and supportive in a way husband’s just don’t understand! It felt so great to know I could ask questions and advice and get support from someone who has been there and gone through it! And she truely went through my pregnancy and all right with me! Highly Recommend her!! If it wasn’t for her I would’ve never even taken a pregnancy test! 😆 She has a calling for this type of work and you would be lucky to have her!”

“Amanda was an amazing support for my second birth. I wish I had her with my first. She helped me before, during and after my labor. I wouldn't have been able to be so confident and encouraged during my labor with out her. Any questions I had before with doctor appointments or how I felt I was able to bounce off her and talk about it when my husband just doesn't understand all of that info. She was able to inform me what the doctors were saying, what would happen next and ease my nerves. I gave her my birth plan and things I did and didn't want and she remembered it all which was so helpful when your exhausted and can't think for yourself. My husband was still fully involved and I think her presence was very helpful for him too. I am so thankful she was there. I would recommend everyone have a doula to support you through out your pregnancy and labor and I highly recommend Amanda she was made for this job!“

“ I knew I wanted to use a doula with my second pregnancy and birth. I also knew that there was the chance that I would end up with a second c-section. Amanda was understanding and supportive of my desire to avoid a second c-section while also preparing me to ask all of the questions and make decisions in any situation. When I was admitted to the hospital I called her right away. She helped me navigate another less than optimal delivery that ended in another c-section. Unlike my first time, I was less heart broken by the experience understanding that in the end my health and the health of my baby were really what mattered. Amanda was compassionate and supportive through the process and into post partum. She listened to my worries and fears, my hopes and happinesses. So mamas, while you may not always get the labor and delivery of your dreams, you can always utilize a doula. So vaginal birth, planned c-section, vbac, unplanned c-section, etc. Amanda will be there to support and love you through the process.“

“Amanda was everything we needed in a doula. She was calm, soothing, easy to be around, directive when needed but stayed in the background if that was what was needed, she was informative and resourceful, and had several tools that she took out at the right time. She knew my birth plan front to back and advocated for my wishes but never did so in a confrontational way. She helped calm me when I was 10cm dilated (during my unmedicated birth) by reminding me that I still had my breath and by helping my partner to massage the right places in order to counter the contractions. She took out a cold towel at the perfect time to help me get through that part of the process. Giving birth to my baby was the most incredible experience and I know for a fact that it would not have been as successful-feeling without Amanda. I am eternally grateful for her!!!”

“I’ve suffered a lot with my mental health in the past, specifically with anxiety. My anxiety is most often triggered by life changing events, and pain.. emotional pain, physical pain or even the thought of being in pain. Having a baby is something I’ve always knew I wanted, but I was horrified of labor and delivery. It’s all I thought about during my entire pregnancy.
So there I was, minding my own baby business and BOOM... Covid.. lockdown.. no baby shower.. no Mom in the delivery room... Amanda continuously reassured and comforted me (and my husband) almost on a weekly basis. I even got a few massages and a foot rub out of it! LOL If it weren’t for her, my labor and delivery surely would not have gone as smooth as it did.
Thank you for answering every single one of my phone calls. Thank you for teaching us all that you have. Thank you for letting me make all of the decisions for labor and delivery. Thank you for spending the night at our house while I was in labor... Thank you!”

“My experience with Amanda was everything I could have hoped for in a post partum doula. She was so in tune with my needs and was the calming presence I needed in those first few weeks home with a newborn. I also have 2 other children, ages 5 and 3, and she was absolutely wonderful with them as well. I would highly recommend using Amanda to anyone looking for help post partum - she is simply the best!”
